I'm betting my money on that NC Soft and ArenaNet did not do samurai armor in specific to not look like they're leaning too much in favor of a certain Oriental culture.
Also knowing that Samurais are better known as a Japanese theme, that NC Soft is a Korean company, and that the Japanese enslaved the Koreans less than 80 years ago... it's not going happen.
But big companies have to be wary about what they put up on their games and some things may be culturally offensive, that's why they never say Christmas and say Winter Holidays, etc. The cultural backgrounds the games take also have this in consideration.

None of those are real. Samurai armor is real armor. And it makes no sense to have the Japanese sword without the armor.

The Wakisashi was considered to hold the soul of the Samurai.
So much for going off topic, but I couldnt help myself .
I wouldnt mind a Samurai type of armor, but I dont really see any Samurai type of profession. The closest would be a Dervish. The Warrior strikes me as more of a barbarian type of character than a Samurai ever was.

It looks somewhat similar, obviously not exact though. It's not like Anet copied armor straight off pictures they googled. They got inspiration from them, but didn't copy.

Assassin Monument armor reminds me of stylized samurai armor. As for Elite Canthan warrior armor, that's more along the lines of Chinese armor.

Armor would deffinitly be a good idea. Diversity is good, though before we see more content with whats already here what about new classes?
/signed for new Armor. no necessarily Samurai armor tho seeing as a samurai never used a shield they used Katanas, and a Katana is genericaly classified as a 2h Weapon.

They'd have to give it a -10 AR penalty, to help reflect the inferiority of historical japanese armour.

Right, because GW is a very realistic game that reflects the advantages of each weapon and armor type. I'm sure that female warriors wore skintight armor that really only covered a small portion of their body and/or left vital areas completely open (e.g. monk Obby armor).
Also, Assassins =/= ninjas =/= Samurai. And giving 'Sins a samurai-themed armor with a katana (not mentioning that Sins are bad with swords) would just increase the overall Narutard syndrome.
